The Barony of Dun Carraig asks all fighters to help us answer an age old question. Is it better to fight for "Love" or "Glory"? All Dukes, Counts, Earls, Baronage, and other nobles are called to field teams of three to help settle the matter.
The armored tournament will consist of teams of three fighters with no more then one Knight per team. Each fighter on a team is paired with another fighter from the opposing team for a Round. In the first bout Team A will send out the first fighter to be matched by a fighter from Team B. For the second bout Team B will send the fighter out first to be met by a member of Team A's choosing. The last fighter from each team will fight in the third bout. Rounds consist of 3 bouts, best two of three, double-kills re -fought. A point is awarded to each team for each Round.
The Barony of Dun Carraig would like to see each team represented in all their glory and it is for this reason we ask that if you would like to have a personalized team banner with heraldry of your choosing made, that you send in your reservations early with your team name and heraldry. Please have your team information sent in with your reservation by June 1st in order to save on site fees and to have your team banner made.
Rapier: Rapier will be a triple-elimination format. Start with single weapon, after first loss gain defensive parry, after second loss fight with two weapons, third loss and you're eliminated.
Archery: With Lady Katarzyna Witkowska as archery marshal, Dun Carraig's Archery Champion, Pietre Witkowski, has designed a shoot of Love v. Evil based on Beedle the Bard, who is a fictional 15th century character, and Harry Potter. There will be moving targets and a blind shoot. The decisions we make affect the outcome of everything in our lives.
Each team must consist of 3 archers (unless there are not enough archers available; then you may have 2). Each team will be allowed 10 points, earned by rankings of team members: 1 for Novice, 2 for Archer, 3 for Marksman, 4 for Bowman, 5 for Bowman Elite, 6 for Grand Bowman Elite (Unranked archers are 1 point). YOUR DECISION: Before starting the shoot, your team must declare whether it chooses the path of "Love" (easier shoot, lower points) or "Glory" (more difficult shoot, higher points). You cannot change your declaration after beginning the shoot. BONUS: If you have a Novice on your team and choose the path of Glory, you will add 5 points to your score (Unranked archers do not earn this bonus). THE OUTCOME: We will see!!!
The baronial Archery and Armored champions will be chosen at Challenge.
The MOL table will open at 9:30am and tournaments will start at 10:30am.
A&S: There will be an open A&S competition welcoming any level of artisan and any type of art. Documentation is encouraged, but no required. Mistress Mary Isabel of Heatherstone will be running the competition.
