The Barony of Dun Carraig invites you to return to another day in the Medieval Middle East. There will be the usual drumming, dancing and enough fabulous food & drink to keep all attendees happy all day.
Where: IC Hall, 28297 Old Village Rd. Mechanicsville, MD. 20659
When: February 28, 2009. Site opens at 9 AM and closes at 10 PM.
Martial Activities: As is tradition, there will be no fighting activities planned for the day. This is a day to catch up with your friends, play on your drum, learn a new dance and eat a great feast.
There is a paved patio area on one side of the building where we will be setting up tents with some heaters for an outdoor jam/dance area which will be very cool (but not cold!). There's even a small playground on the other side of the building we are allowed to use for those w/ little ones. Speaking of little ones, we have a new MoM who will be organizing some children's activities throughout the day including a dance class for kids taught by the fun-loving Lady Nina of Bright Hills.
Arts & Sciences Activities: Artisans of all sorts are encouraged to show off their work at our A&S display. We have one competition scheduled so far. "You look like you just stepped out of a miniature!" Come dressed in your finery and bring the miniature that inspired it.
