The baron and baroness of Dun Carraig are Ragnarr Blackhammer and Lynette Semere.
Ragnarr and Lynette (Charles and Jynette) stepped up as the Baron and Baroness of Dun Carraig on November 12, 2011.
Ragnarr has been a SCA member since 1986. Since then he has been recognized as a Knight for his armored fighting ability and a Provost for his skill with a rapier. He has also been recognized with a Sea Stag for teaching of the martial arts and a Golden Dolphin for his service to the Kingdom. As an accomplished "lefty," Ragnarr has never turned away a fighter looking for a pick up fight or pointers to improve his/her fight or the pomp surrounding their persona. One of his many services to the kingdom of Atlantia has been to serve as a just and wise King in three different reigns. Ragnarr is a great supporter of all fighting styles, arts, and sciences within the SCA and currently has a number of household members and squires.
Lynette started playing with the SCA in 2005 and has spent her entire time in the Society in the Barony of Dun Carraig. She is an accomplished autocrat and has served as a retainer for two former Baronesses of Dun Carraig and a former Queen of Atlantia. Lynette has also done extensive work supporting the fighters of Atlantia as a water bearer, including donating items for an auction to raise funds for water bearing supplies. She has received both the Award of the Fountain and a King's Award of Excellency specifically for her water bearing service. She has received the Order of the Opal for all of her service to Dun Carraig and Atlantia as well as the Order of the Coral Branch for her costuming. She has made and gifted garb to many members of the Barony. Lynette also does pewter casting and works in metal wire. Lynette has given sewing and patterning lessons to other members of the Barony as well as teaching pewter casting and chain mail making.
Ragnarr does have a particular picky eating habit. He would like to express his utmost gratefulness to all cooks in the SCA and asks that they please not get offended by his lack of exploration of new or certain foods. On that same note, he asks that no one get put out trying to appease his "special" appetite. But for those who would like to know what he is partial to, his favorites include pasta, cheese, and bread. He is not a big meat eater and normally will only eat bacon (chicken and fish if it is breaded). His choices of beverages are milk, lemonade, flavored water, or Diet Coke, but his favorite is Mountain Dew.
Lynette is quite the opposite. There is not much of anything she won’t eat or at least try. Her only real dislike when it comes to food is onions, and she is still ok with them if they are cut small enough and cooked into meals. Her favorites consist of meats (any and all), seafood, and fresh fruits. She is happy with any beverages provided, but prefers anything diet.
